Omatjete Gold Project

The Omatjete Gold Project, located in the North Central Zone of the Damara Orogenic Belt, is a key exploration focus for Great Quest Gold. With over 93,000 hectares and situated approximately 80 km southeast of the Khorixas Project, the area is characterized by a major sedimentary basin intruded by multiple syn-tectonic granites, which have significantly enhanced its geological complexity and mineral potential.

Despite its promising geological characteristics, the Omatjete area has not been subjected to historical exploration. Omatjete offers significant potential for gold deposits, perfectly aligning with Great Quest’s mission to advance projects with strong growth prospects.

In 2023, Great Quest Gold expanded its portfolio by acquiring up to 70% of Belmont Mineral Exploration (Pty) Ltd., a Namibian private company. Belmont Mineral Exploration holds 14 exclusive prospecting licenses covering over 307,778 hectares of exploration ground. This acquisition gives Great Quest access to three major projects, including the Omatjete Gold Project.

Gold Exploration

The Omatjete Gold Project is located on strike with the Kokoseb discovery (WIA Gold), a major gold find in the region. The project area features a prominent arsenic anomaly, with over 3.5 km in length and 2.2 km in width, with arsenic concentrations at least twice the background level of 8 ppm. This anomaly is a key exploration indicator, as a strong correlation between arsenic and gold has been demonstrated through lab analysis, a technique successfully employed in the Otjikoto and Twin Hills discoveries.
The geological setting of the Omatjete Project closely mirrors that of the Kokoseb Gold Deposit, located just 38 km to the west, reinforcing the project’s potential for significant gold mineralization.
