The Evolution Of Great Quest Gold

Great Quest Gold has undergone an evolution since its inception, adapting to market conditions and resource opportunities across Africa.

2009

Djambaye II Concession

Initially focused on gold exploration in Mali, the company's principal asset was the Djambaye II concession, sold to Avion Gold Corporation (now Endeavour Mining Corporation) in late 2009. Following this, the Malian government encouraged Great Quest to explore opportunities in the country’s fertilizer sector, specifically the expansive phosphate deposits in northern Mali.

2014

Tilemsi Phosphate Project

Recognizing the significant potential to deliver value to shareholders, the company restructured its management team and Board of Directors, adopting a new identity as Great Quest Fertilizer Ltd. and shifting its focus to phosphate development. In 2014, the company was granted permits for the Tilemsi Phosphate Concession by the Malian Ministry of Mines, marking a new phase in its journey.

2021

Sanoukou Gold Project

In 2021, Great Quest renewed its focus on the Sanoukou Gold Project in southwestern Mali. Covering 24 km², this strategically positioned concession lies within one of Africa’s most renowned gold belts, known for hosting world-class gold deposits. The Sanoukou permit lies within the Kenieba window, a region composed of Birimian rocks that have historically hosted numerous gold deposits and producing mines.

2021

Geulmin Project

In 2021, Great Quest also expanded its project portfolio by announcing an option to acquire Tadine Plus, a Moroccan exploration company, with a focus on the Bas Draa and Taznakt Ouarzazate exploration prospects. These projects are situated in the southwestern Anti-Atlas region of Morocco, known for its distinct WSW-ENE trending hills and mountains, and hold considerable promise for gold exploration.

2023

Acquisition Of Belmont Mineral Exploration

By 2023, Great Quest agreed to acquire up to 70% of Belmont Mineral Exploration Ltd. This strategic move opened access to three significant gold project areas. This expansion signified a focus on gold exploration in Namibia, a stable and highly prospective mining jurisdiction, while maintaining exposure in Morocco and Mali.

2024

Rebranding as Great Quest Gold Ltd.

In July 2024, reflecting its renewed focus on gold exploration, the company successfully rebranded as Great Quest Gold Ltd., officially launching the next great chapter in its journey of growth and resource development across Africa.
